Its amazing what you can accomplish for the right motivation
Just for a minute or two, lets take a break and play a game. Let's play pretend, you remember how to play pretend, right? That's where you close your eyes and imagine yourself lounging in a hammock stretched out between two trees on a private tropical island, being served your favorite beverage and being hand fed fruit while a listening to the sound of waves crashing along the shore. Well, that's what I like to pretend anyway....and too bad were only playing pretend, huh? Now lets pretend that its Tuesday and you were just given the opportunity to have a week filled with all those things and all you had to do is get everything that needs to be done the rest of this week AND next in order to take advantage of this amazing vacation absolutely FREE! Could you do it? Would you find a way?
Here in the south there are two things that rival that scenario; College Football and NASCAR . Well, NASCAR at Talledega International Motor Speedway just passed and that exact scenario played out for thousands of people in real life.
For those of you that don't know, let me explain. The NASCAR circuit races here twice a year. People take these weekends extremely serious, even to the point that they schedule vacations just to come and planning years in advance. It may only be a three day event but tens of thousands of fans will make it a week long event. Arriving in on Tuesday or Wednesday and leaving on Monday.
I was talking to a few of my friends on Wednesday the week before the Race Weekend began. They were telling me that they were going to be working late all week in order to get all their work done so they could take the following Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday off. After all, the things that need to get done still have to get done, right?
This made me think about how productive the next few days were going to be for them, so that they could get a whole weeks work done in only two days. I bet they didn't do much socializing at work like usual or procrastinating work that needed to be done and probably shortened or didn't take as many breaks as they usually would, just to be sure to get everything that needed to be done completed so they could take off and enjoy a reward. For them it was Race Weekend.
All "extra" work is worth every minute if the reward means enough to you.
I then began to wonder how productive someone could be EVERY WEEK if every week they pretended to have something Big happening at the end of the week and all the weeks work needed to get done in three days instead of five. It seems that, when you want to, you can cut down on the wasted and procrastinated time in your day and get so much more accomplished than you normally would, if you really wanted to and were motivated to do so.
That sounds a whole lot like simple focus to me. What would that reward have to be to make you want to focus like that? A vacation, a wedding, seeing a dream come to pass, success in whatever it is you are doing?
Wonder how much further you would be along in the pursuit of your dream or in your business if you simply always imagined that you had a big weekend coming up and you needed to get more done in a shorter time so that you could go? It's pretty obvious that it can and will be done if the reward is something you really want. Seems to me that there are great rewards connected to cutting out the wasted time in your day.

You seldom work while your playing so don't play while you work and you will have more time to play!
